About Me
Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Portland, Oregon providing psychotherapy. My pronouns are she/her and I’m a pansexual person.
I began working in mental health in 2013 and I became a therapist in 2015. Throughout the years, I have gotten the opportunity to provide therapy for children, teenagers and adults of all ages in various settings. Being able to support human beings exploring who they are and striving to deconstruct and unlearn conditioning that is no longer serving them is something I deeply love doing. Cocreating a path forward to engage in healing from trauma and wounds is central to how I practice. I celebrate, honor and affirm all identities within and beyond the LGBTQ+ community.
In my practice, I strive to co-create a compassionate, non-judgmental, open space in which we can collaborate to clarify goals, build healing, strengthen skills and cultivate resilience. It’s genuinely a passion for me to assist you in exploring and discovering more about your own mind. With this embodied learning (along with support and patience), you can begin to guide your mind to “work” for you- rather than you “working” for it. I welcome any and all feedback as my counseling is about supporting you in the way that you need to be supported.
When I work with clients, I see more than the presenting individualized emotional or psychological factors as we all exist in this world together. The challenges we face in modern day society are immense, and these challenges vary drastically with social, economic, racial, gender, cultural, ability (and other) related factors. I of course have a narrow lens as I’ve only experienced life with the identities and privileges I hold; grounded in this knowledge, I strive to truly listen and learn from all of my clients. I do my best to root myself in a foundation of cultural consciousness, collective liberationist values and acknowledgement of both structural and interpersonal power dynamics. You are the expert on your life and your experiences; my goal is to support you while empowering you to deeply tune into your authentic self.
I offer Telehealth video therapy sessions and in-person sessions at 1220 SW Morrison ST in Portland.
I would love to explore the possibility of joining you on your journey. Please reach out by email at Kristen.Sartor78@gmail.com if you have any questions for me or if you’d like to schedule a consultation to explore working together.
